At 72, I (Dave Stevens) reversed type 2 diabetes, eliminated planned surgeries, and dropped the pain and extra weight that once held me back. My wife Peggy and I now run RiversZen Fitness Studios, where we help others do the same through gentle resistance stretching, breathwork, real-food choices, and simple daily habits that actually feel good.
We’re living proof that your later years can be stronger and more vibrant — not filled with decline.
Our story, simplified
In 2007, at 53, I was in rough shape: 90 pounds overweight, constant pain, a terrifying 14.7 A1C, and facing multiple surgeries. Conventional approaches weren’t working.
We decided to take control. Through natural approaches including resistance stretching (which felt like magic for my back, shoulders, and knees), a low-carb way of eating, breathwork, posture work, and stress relief, everything shifted.
Within months, my blood sugar normalized without medication. Pain faded. Energy returned. Seventeen years later, at 72, I’m still moving well and running RiversZen studios with Peggy.
It wasn’t complicated or punishing. It was about listening to the body, choosing real food that liberates rather than restricts, and moving gently but effectively every day.
