I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to notice what we can’t do anymore.
Something hurts. Something’s stiffer. Something we used to do doesn’t seem like such a good idea anymore.
We notice pretty quickly when our bodies are complaining.
But there’s another question I don’t think we ask nearly as often:
What’s working pretty darn well right now?
Not compared with ten years ago. Not compared with somebody else.
Today.
Maybe you walked farther than you expected. Got off the floor easily. Slept well. Carried the groceries without thinking about it. Your shoulder finally quit complaining.
Or maybe you just woke up feeling pretty good and didn’t think anything of it.
We spend a lot of time with people talking about what hurts, what isn’t moving the way they’d like, or what they’re trying to improve. That’s important. It’s a big part of what Peggy and I do.
But sometimes something is quietly going right.
Maybe it’s worth noticing that too.
That’s our question for you this week.
What’s working?
Peggy and I would love to hear about it.
