What Small Thing Are You Defending That’s Holding You Back?
I was already healthy. Blood sugar solid. Weight good. Moving well.
Then I cut my coffee from multiple pots to one or two cups a day.
My numbers dropped even more. Energy steadied out. Sleep improved.
I’d been defending that habit for decades. “It’s just coffee. It’s not hurting anything.”
Except it was.
Here’s the thing about small habits: they hide in plain sight because they’re small.
You defend them. Justify them. Tell yourself they don’t matter.
Meanwhile, they’re the exact thing standing between you and feeling even better.
Maybe it’s the nightly snack you don’t need. The extra drink on weekends. Staying up scrolling. Skipping your walk because “it’s just one day.”
None of it seems like a big deal. Until you stop doing it and realize how much it was costing you.
Your body’s trying to tell you something. But often you’re too busy defending the habit to listen.
I thought I was at my best. Turns out I was just comfortable with good enough.
What are you defending that you should be questioning?
Until I talk to you again, move well, stay healthy and be happy. Have an amazing day!
