Remember Happy Days and the gang eating at Arnold’s Diner?
Back then, food was simpler—real, whole, and nourishing.
Dr. Ken Berry’s 7 steps to eating the proper human diet bring us back to that kind of eating.
These seven steps are simple, but they pack a punch. Let’s break it down:
1. Stop All Added Sugar & Most Natural Sugars
Sugar sneaks into nearly everything these days.
Get rid of it, and watch your energy soar without those highs and lows.
Be sure and read labels and learn the many different names for hidden sugar.
2. Stop All Grains & Beans
I know, I know… this one is tough for a lot of folks.
But grains and beans?
They bring along inflammation, which means stiffer joints and sluggish mornings.
Drop ’em, and you’ll feel lighter and sharper.
3. Stop All Vegetable Seed Oils
These oils are highly processed and do your body no favors.
Canola oil is from the rape seed… that should tell you something
They’re not a natural part of our diet and tend to cause trouble.
Stick to animal fats, avocado oil, or coconut oil instead.
4. Fill At Least Half of Your Plate With Meat, Seafood, Eggs
Think of your plate as your body’s fuel tank. Load it up with high-quality protein for strength, energy, and muscle recovery.
Ideally fill your entire plate with meat, seafood and eggs.
I know many can’t do that so at least use the 1/2 Goal
5. Eat Until Full
Diet culture tells us to eat less, but here’s the catch—you’re allowed to eat until you’re satisfied!
Listen to your body’s signals.
6. Stop Snacking Between Meals
Constant snacking doesn’t give your body a chance to rest and repair.
Let those systems work as they’re supposed to!
7. Avoid Buying Food With More Than 5 Ingredients
If you’re grabbing a box, check the label.
Keep it simple, real, and whole.
The fewer ingredients, the better your body can digest and use it.
Personally I think Dr. Berry nailed it!
Give it a try and see how you feel.
