You’re standing in the kitchen. Fridge door open.
That voice whispers…
“Just one bite. You’ve been good all day. You deserve it.”
Sound familiar?
Yeah. Me too. We’ve all been there.
But here’s a little lifesaver I teach all the time:
The 5-Minute Rule.
When a craving hits, don’t say “no.”
Just say… “not yet.”
Give it 5 minutes.
That’s it. Just 5.
Walk away.
Stretch.
Breathe.
Go outside.
Text a friend.
Do a plank if you’re feeling spicy.
Why does this work?
Because cravings are like waves.
They rise fast…
But they crash just as quickly.
Ride the wave for 5 minutes, and more often than not, you’ll realize:
You weren’t really hungry.
You were stressed.
You were bored.
You just needed a moment.
This isn’t about willpower or shame.
It’s about choice.
And in that tiny pause…
That’s where your power lives.
You're not saying “never.”
You’re saying, “not right now.”
And that one shift can change everything.
So try it today.
When temptation calls, don’t argue.
Just delay. Set a timer for 5 minutes and do something, anything else.
When the timer rings?
Chances are, you’ll still be in control.
Craving gone.
Power back in your hands.
