Do you often think you're finally over the hump, only to find yourself right back where you started?
You’ve been eating better, moving more, breathing deeper. Your hips feel looser, your knees don't yell at you as loud, and you’re starting to stand taller.
Then… bam! You wake up stiff. Your old shoulder ache is back. And the doubts come sneaking in like a nosy neighbor peeking through the blinds.
“Why bother?”
“I thought I was getting better.”
“Is this just how it is now?”
I hear this all the time. In fact I’ve lived it. And here’s what I want to tell you:
Healing isn’t a straight line. It’s a spiral staircase.
You’ll circle around to the same pain, the same weakness, the same emotional stuck points, but each time, you’re meeting them from a higher place.
You’re not back at the bottom. You’re just at another turn of the spiral.
If you’ve ever climbed one of those old spiral staircases in a lighthouse or church tower, you know the feeling.
Every few steps you pass the same view, a window looking out to sea. The same light hits your face. But you’re not in the same spot. You’re higher up. The view is wider. The breeze feels different.
That’s how healing works.
Same issue. New level. New wisdom. New strength.
When my knees used to scream at me, I’d spiral back into frustration. But now when they bark, I nod and say, “I hear you. What lesson are you teaching me this time?”
Maybe I pushed too hard. Maybe I skipped my breathwork. Maybe I just need rest.
But it’s not failure. It’s feedback.
The pain doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’re becoming.
So if you’re struggling today, let me offer this: you’re not going in circles.
You’re spiraling up. One step at a time. And that is something to celebrate.
🎯 Give This a Try:
The next time an old pain shows up, pause and breathe. Instead of thinking, “Here we go again,” ask yourself,
“What’s different this time? What have I learned since the last time I felt this?”
Write it down. Own that progress. Then take one small step forward. That’s healing. That’s power.
And if you ever need a hand on the next step of that staircase? We’ll be right here with you.
