Ever find yourself standing in the kitchen, fridge door wide open…
Not hungry.
Just tired. Or sad. Or bored out of your mind?
Yep. Been there.
And no, you’re not broken.
You’re human.
Emotional eating isn’t about willpower.
It’s about relief.
Some folks pour a glass of wine.
Some scroll Instagram for an hour.
Some press play on another mindless episode.
And some of us?
We reach for chips. Cookies. Cold pizza.
Not because we’re hungry.
Because we want to feel better. Right now.
Even if the “better” only lasts five minutes.
“But I Know Better…”
Most of us do.
But knowing isn’t the issue.
Avoiding is.
We eat to dodge stress.
We eat to dull sadness.
Sometimes, we even eat to numb joy—because joy feels just as risky.
Thing is, food becomes a band-aid.

Next time you’re standing in front of the fridge, try this:
Take 3 slow breaths
Put your hand on your heart
Ask: “What do I actually need right now?”
You might still want the cookie.
But maybe what you really need…
Is a nap.
A walk.
A good cry.
Or someone to say, “Yeah… me too.”
