Driving with Dave Is Back
Hey, guess what? I’m resurrecting Driving With Dave. You know what? In the past two weeks I’ve had two different people come to me and say they missed the old series I did where I did these daily messages called Driving With Dave. Not polished, not refined, not edited, just me speaking my mind.
I’m lucky because Peggy just walked in so she gets to hear this too. Isn’t she lucky? Or actually it’s me that’s lucky, but that’s okay. So, you know, hey, two people, you know, that’s a large number.
So of course I have to do it, right? I mean sometimes it’s one person I go, yeah, that’s a really good idea. I think I’ll do it. So two people and off we go.
We’re back to Driving With Dave. Although it’s not going to be a daily feature like it used to be, I’m going to probably feature it in different locations. Most days it would probably be a Substack article.
When I do it, we’ll see. We’ll see where it falls. So be sure you check our Facebook and all of our different places we post things because you never know where Driving With Dave will end up if you like Driving With Dave.
I’m not very drivable. No, I’m sitting in my chair. Driving With Dave is because when I first started this, it’d be like when I was driving from our Ilwaco to our Astoria studio and I would just share.
I’d pick up my phone because I know my brain. If I don’t share it now, I think about it three weeks, three hours later, I’ll look at Peggy. Yeah, three minutes.
I’ll look at Peggy and I’ll say, what was I gonna do that on? I told you about it. She’ll go, I don’t know. So therefore, Driving With Dave began.
It can be quite scary. Yeah, it can be scary. But anyway, so I just thought I’d start this.
This is kind of the introduction back with Driving With Dave and you know, I’m going to give you one little aside from class this morning. On the way down to class today, I was thinking about, believe it or not, Dr. Demento and Wolfman Jack from when I was a kid. We’d go on little camping trips and we had a little AM radio and we’d dial into one of them in the morning and of course, you know, we’re all just laughing and giggling and having a great time because, hey, it’s the Wolfman or it’s Dr. Demento.
And so I was thinking about this and about a third of the way through class today, one of the students, she peels off her sweatshirt and she’s got a t-shirt on that says, Be Nice. Stop me cold. I’m teaching.
Stop me cold. I look at her t-shirt and go, oh my god, this must be a message from the cosmos. Because if you know who Dr. Demento and Wolfman Jack are, they aren’t always nice.
So a little rough around the edges. Yeah, yeah. And that’s part of it.
They were shock jocks, I think they called it back then. Anyway, so I took that and I said, wow, be nice. How about that? That’s a message from the cosmos and I think I will embrace that.
So as much as Dave loves Dr. Demento and Wolfman Jack and all the craziness that comes along with guys like that, be nice. And with that, we’re back. We’re back with Driving with Dave.
I’m gonna drive Peggy nuts with this because this is Dave Unfiltered, which is kind of a scary concept. Thank you. I hope you could hear Peggy on that because she’s in the background making comments.
Said one of the scariest things she’s ever dealt with. So with that, have an amazing day. Can’t wait to talk to you again next time on Driving with Dave.
