Doctors have all of the answers…
So we don't need to ask any questions.
Right?
I don't think so.
I used to nod along when my doc handed me a pill bottle—until I realized I wasn’t a bobblehead, I was a guy who deserved to know why!
Pills might sound like an easy fix, but why not ask, “Doc, what’s this for? Do I really need it?”
Maybe even push a little: “How can I ditch these down the road?”
If he’s dodging you like a kid hiding veggies under mashed potatoes, well, that’s a clue!
You’re not fragile—you’re smart, and your body can often bounce back without a pharmacy’s help.
A doctor who won’t talk it out might not be your teammate—maybe it’s time to shop for one who gets it!
Maybe next visit, jot down one question like “Can I skip this pill with better habits?” and see what he says—your health’s worth the chat!
Good advice. I just did this a few weeks ago. Refused a medication and asked for other options (which I am trying out now).
