Comfort is the new killer.
Your chair is too soft.
Your food is too easy.
Your days are too still.
And while comfort feels good in the moment, it’s slowly stealing your life.
Joints stiffen.
Muscles weaken.
Energy fades.
Before you know it, you’re not living, you’re just existing.
Peggy and I used to chase comfort too.
Skip the workout.
Calorie loaded “cheat days”.
Sit instead of move.
The price?
Sciatica,
Surgeries waiting in line
Bodies breaking down.
We didn’t heal by getting comfortable.
We healed by getting uncomfortable.
Stretching muscles that didn’t want to stretch.
Moving when we didn’t feel like it.
Eating real food instead of “easy comfort” food.
Here’s the truth: comfort won’t save you.
Discomfort will.
Today, trade one comfort for one challenge.
Take the walk.
Do the squat.
Come to class.
Skip the junk.
Breathe deeply.
Life begins when comfort ends.

It's not like the choice away from comfort was so hard to accomplish. It was the change in our behavior. Making the choice to walk, to stretch, to move rather than chill; to eat wisely rather than quickly or out of convenience. In the end, it felt great.
